![]() Have you ever wanted to view a video without hearing the audio? Have you ever wanted to hear a video without seeing the video? If you have a video (either something of your own or a video downloaded from the internet), here’s how: In prepping our course feedback for last year’s Spanish PLT, I learned a nifty trick (thanks to the Knowledge Bar’s Kevin and Eddie for talking me through the problem) in iMovie: how to separate a video clip’s audio track from it’s video track. ![]() • After importing your video clip into iMovie, select the video clip you wish to detach. • Right click and select “Detach Audio.” • You can now delete one of the tracks (either audio or video), move it to another place in the video timeline or manipulate it. * To cut video free in iMovie from the middle, select the part using the yellow box and right click > select delete. * Rearrange the clips in the timeline by dragging them to new places. * Place the playhead to on the clip where you want to split > click Modify on Mac menu bar > click Split Clip to split the video. I have brought the video into iMovie and split the video into clips. I now want to move these clips to another project, to combine into a project with other similar clips. IMovie allowed me to split the QuickTime video into clips, but I cannot determine how to move some of the clips into another project.
